PhD Ana Torlak

Assist. Prof. Ana Torlak, Ph. D. graduated at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Split (FFST), in 2009. She was at pre-doctoral grant Ernst Mach in Vienna in 2014 and she defended her PhD thesis in 2015 at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb. Since 2011 she has worked at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Split and since 2017 she has been an assistant professor. She holds four courses in the bachelor and master studies of Art History at FFST and she has also held lectures at the Department of Art History at the University of Rijeka and at the Department of Art History at the University of Mostar. She mentored nearly twenty final papers and graduated theses. She is a member of the Society of Croatian Art Historians and Literary Circle Split.

Ana Torlak authored a number of scientific papers and she also gave lectures at dozen symposia, mostly international. She was also engaged in several conservation projects. The fields of her scientific interest are the ancient history of art, ancient topography of Roman Salona, history excavations of Salona with a focus on private collections of ancient monuments in the 19th century and ancient cults in Roman Dalmatia.
